Critter concern...?

We have a wooded area across from our house that a developer has recently purchased to build townhouses on. I am ok with the building that will take place, but should I be concerned about what kind of animals might be coming out of the woods when their homes are displaced once the land starts being cleared? We already had one problem with armadillos that I umed came from there. We took care of them, but I'm a little nervous about anything else that may need a place to go and decide that mine and my neighbors' yards are it. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
