How to store cigars without a humidor?

I just bought my dad a box of cigars (20 total). I'll be visiting him in Sacramento in 4 days, but until then I need to know how to store his cigars. I don't want to buy a humidor since it's only 4 days and I don't smoke cigars myself, so I need a cheap, alternative way to store them. Also, I'll be driving to Sacramento from Phoenix (about a 16 hour drive) so portability is also important! Thanks! :)
