Psp metal gear solid psx disc help?

i have both discs to use on my psp, but when i put disc 1 on the psp it goes to a black screen after the psone screen. i tried putting disc 2 on my psp and it worked perfectly. but i cant play the game because it asks for me to use disc 1. ive looked around but i cant find anyway to use the first disc. if any body know's what to do please let me know.
