Should I apply for this investment job if I don't have the experience qualification?

I'm going to get a degree in an area that they want but it requires one or more years experience in real estate investment. I have no experience. I think I can do the job and I'm taking the CFA level I. Would I look stupid if I did it? It's with a government agency.
